should a Christian university pay its athletes?
There’s a long article from The Atlantic written by Taylor Branch that tackles the question of paying college athletes in the NCAA that has been making the rounds [link].
I believe that NCAA schools by and large exploit the athletes that play the money-making sports. I do not believe a Christian university should be involved in this exploitation.
I don’t think paying athletes is the answer for a Christian university; I think reconsidering what the university itself is about, and whether high-profile sports programs are part of that vision, is a better solution.
